Swedish and Norw. dial. pappe, also north Fris. pap, pape, dim. papke, nipple, teat, breast giving suck.In the mod. dial. chiefly Sc. and north. and north midl. Eng.] A pap.

1. A nipple or a breast of a woman.In verse also freq. applied, in laudatory descriptions, to a woman's (white) breasts.Also fig., and attrib. in pape-milk (as also in the mod. dial. of Shetl.).(1) a1400 Leg. S. xlii. 179. c1420 Wynt. viii. 1504.
