BOGSHAMMELT, -SHAMMELED, Bogshochled, Bumshovelt, adj. Also bumshayvelt. Distorted. [bɔg′ʃɑmlt, bɔg′ʃɔxlt, bʌmʃɔvlt]Abd.16 1925:
Bogshaivelt is common, but its variants, bogshammeled and bumshovelt and even bogshochled are in use.
Abd. 1996 Sheena Blackhall Wittgenstein's Web 49:
Henry wis a bumshayvelt billie, wi hudderie hair an a dowp that didna haud up the girth o his trousers, fur he aye hunkit them up wi ae haun, whilst the broon, fag-rikkit fingers o his free nieve powkit, roosed, at the peetifu columns o wages on offer.
Bch. 1928 (per Abd.15):
