BUIRD, BOORD, n.2 [bu:rd, bju:rd n.Sc.; bø:rd Ags.]
1. “The net next the boat, i.e. the last one shot” (Crm., Avoch, Rs. 1914 T.S.D C. I.: Ags. (Usan) 1927 (per Ags.9), buird).
2. “A platform on which the nets were laid as they were hauled in” (Mry.1 1925, boord).
