COONTER-LOUP, v. comb. To assist in a shop. Found only in vbl.n. coonter-loupin' (Bnff.2 1937). [′kuntər′lʌup]Sc. 1925 W. Stewart in Scots Mag. (Jan.) 277:
The fusionless . . . fill-an'-fetch-for-favour, serf-seemin', saul-saddenin', ilka-day jaunner job o' coonter-loupin'.
