DUPLICAND, DUPLICANDO, n. Sc. law: a doubling or doubled amount of feu-duty for one year at certain specified intervals or on certain occasions.Sc. 1777 Morison Decisions 15053:
A superior was obliged to enter the heir . . . on receiving a duplicando of the feu-duty.
Sc. 1929 Glasgow Herald (27 Dec.) 3/6:
The payment of a duplicand of the feu-duty might wipe out the margin of rents and leave the proprietor with nothing for the half-year.
