FRIBBLE, v. To frizzle (a wig), to titivate. Also with with.Ayr. 1822 Galt Steamboat xii.:
The mistress . . . said to me, The minister had a blockhead whereon he was wont to dress and fribble his wig. . . . I set myself to dress and fribble with my new wig.

[An unusual use of Eng. fribble, to fiddle, to behave frivolously, prob. influenced by the similarity of its sound to frizzle.]
