GEMEROLL, n. Used attrib. with coat: ? a short, half-length coat, reaching to just above the knee.s.Sc. c.1830 Proc. Bwk. Naturalists' Club (1916) 63:
Wag-at-the-wa' was described by this old lady to have . . . long arms and covered with yellow hair, which also was the colour of his gemeroll (general?) coat.

[The word may corrupt. The definition given assumes the word as a Sc. form of Eng. dial. gammerel, gambrel, the under side of the thigh above the knee, the same word as Camrell, q.v.]
