¶HAGGILS, n.pl. Found only in phr. in the haggils, “in trammels” (Fif. 1825 Jam.).
[A corrupt or denasalised form of hangal, Hankle, but confused with the phr. to be in the haingles, — hangils, s.v. Haingle.]
