RAUHHEL, n. A kind of potato masher (see quot.).Wgt. 1877 “Saxon” Gall. Gossip 8:
Potatoes coarsely bruised with a three-toed thing like a graip, they ca't a rauhhel, which was stirred up and down in the pot to break them.

[The form is uncertain and its orig. obscure. The earlier form appears to be Raup, q.v.]
