SIDDLE, v. Rare Sc. variant of Eng. sidle, to move little by little (Per. 1970). Also in n.Eng. dial. Adv. siddle-siddle, in a tripping, sidling manner, somewhat like a crab. [sɪdl]Per. 1857 J. Stewart Sketches 44:
The hen-taed snabs cam' siddle-siddle.
Per. 1888 R. Ford Glentoddy 91:
The hat's just a wee thocht ower big for me, and siddles doon ower my lugs.
