BARSICK, n. In Sh. sea-taboo usage: a ship (Sh. 1814 Irvine MSS.). Jak. gives the form basek, id. [A dim. formation of obscure orig. Prob. connected with O.N. barði, a boat, prow, edge, side of a boat, but the phonology is unclear.]
