BLACK-GREY, n.comb. Cloth made from the wool of the native Highland sheep, Hodden gray.Cai. 1845 Stat. Acc.2 XV. 29:
Their wool is short but soft. . . . It is also woven into a kind of cloth here called black-grey, which is made into wearing clothes for the more aged members of the family.
