CUSHY-COWS, n.comb. In pl.: the seed-heads of the dock, Rumex.Bwk. 1853 G. Johnston Botany E. Borders 174:
Children call the seeded plant [of the dock] Cushy-Cows, and they milk it by drawing the stalks through the fingers.
