REEVACK, n. Also in comb. skin-reevack, a piece of hide tied round the end of the spear or plunger in a boat's pump which acted as a valve by opening out on the upward stroke and so forming a lock (Cai. 1966). [Dim. form of reeve, Ruive, a rivet or burr.]
