TAMEL, n. Also tamer. One of two varieties of eel, Anguilla acutirostris or latirostris (Gall. 1905 E.D.D., tamer).Fif. 1845 Stat. Acc.2 IX. 148:
The lake abounds in a variety of fishes, such as trout, perch, tamel, and eel.
