TAUK, v., n. Also taak. Sc. forms of Eng. talk (Sc. 1721 Ramsay Poems (S.T.S.) I. 110; Abd. 1754 R. Forbes Ajax 5; Rnf. 1800 R. Tannahill Poems (1900) 106; s.Sc. 1809 T. Donaldson Poems 32; Sc. 1826 Wilson Noctes Amb. (1855) I. 239). This spelling is peculiar to Sc.m.Sc. 1988 William Neill Making Tracks 63:
Oor M.P. cam tae veesit us lest nicht;
