TIMPLE, v. To finger, handle, fiddle with so as to spoil, to overhandle a pet animal, to keep turning the leaves of a book (Ork. 1929 Marw., Ork. 1972). Ppl.adj. timpled.Ork. 1949:
A child handling a new book would be Told “Keep id clean and don't timple id.” Dirty clothes are described as “timpled.”
