TRAINER, n. Sc. usages:
1. A rope for drawing harrows (Ayr.4 1928). Cf. Train, n., 1.
2. A piece of wood 2 ft. 6 in. long, 4 in. thick, with a wooden pin at one end and a tapered hole at the other to fit the millstone spindle, and used to train the spindle to the bedstone (Edb. 1949).
