WHEECH, int., n.2, v.2 [ʍiç]
I. int. An exclamation of disgust on smelling a stench (Cai. 1905 E.D.D., Cai. 1974).
II. n. A stench (Ib.; Cai., Fif., Lth. 1974).
III. v. To stink. Only in agent. n. comb. tallie-wheecher, a miner's lamp using tallow as a fuel (‡Fif., Lth. 1974). See Tauch, n., 2. (7).
