Abaising, Abasing, vbl. n. Also: abays(s)ing, -inge, -yng(e, abasyng. [f. Abais v.; = ME. abasshing abashing.] Downheartedness, discouragement, dismay, dread.1375 Barb. ix. 485; etc.
