Demigrane, Dimmegrane, n. Also: demy-, dem(m)e-, dymme-, damy-, dame-, domy-, dome-, dummygrane. [Of obscure origin, but app. f. demi-and graine as in grograine, F. gros grain, grogram. There is no evidence of connexion with OF. demigraine pomegranate.] A woven fabric frequently mentioned between 1525 and 1550.(a) 1525 Treas. Acc. V. 252.
