Mirth, Myrth, n. Also: mirthe, myrthe, myrtht. [ME. (north. and midl.) mirth(e, myrth(e, (west. and south.) murthe etc., (Gower) merthe, OE. myr(i)ᵹð, myrþ etc., str. fem.]In the principal senses also common in the plural.
