Outlyer, -lier, n. [e.m. E. out-lyer (a 1658), -lier, in various other senses: Lyar n.] One who ‘lies out’ from church, an absentee from church. (Cf. Outlying vbl. n.) —1606 Cramond Ch. Aberdour 3.
