Part-, Pairt-takar, Partakar, Pairtakar, n. Also: parte-, pert- and -takare, -air, -er, -ir; -taikar, -er, -tayker; -takkar, -er, -tacker. [e.m.E. and ME. (c 1400) part(e)-taker, e.m.E. partacker (a 1500), partaker (1547); f. Part n. and Takar n.] A partaker, in the usual senses.Also, freq., written as two words.
1. One who takes part or shares (of, also in, to an action, experience, etc.) (with, also of, to another person); a partner or sharer; a participant.Art and partaker, a participant in a crime. For further examples see Art n. 2 c.(1) 1515 Acts II. 282/2 (see Art n. 2 c).
