Accord, v. Also: acord(e. [ME. acorde, accorde (12th c.), OF. acorder, late L. accordāre.]

1. intr. Of persons: To come to an agreement; to agree.1375 Barb. i. 70 (the barownys that on na maner mycht accord). 1385 Red Bk. Grandtully I. 139* (fully tyl accorde). c1420 Wynt. iv. 1688 (thai accordyd noucht). 1456 Hay I. 79/8 (quhen the twa mycht nocht accord togeder). 1549 Compl. 79/22 (accordit amang them selfis). 15.. b. To agree with another, to or in a thing, that, etc., or absol. in these senses.1375 Barb. xx. 208* (heir-till thai war all accordand). c1400 Troy-bk. ii. 3079 (thai accord that … ). 1417 Reg. 2. Of things: To agree or correspond with, to answer to, be suitable (for); also with infin.1375 Barb. iii. 286 (it suld accord to skill that … ). c1400 Troy-bk. i. 376 (as for syk thingis accordit best). c1420 Wynt. ii. 1290 (kynd to that accordyt noucht); vi. 119 (it accordis till resowne that … ). 1456 Hay I. 300/19 (this vice may nocht accorde till a prince). 1500 Edinb.
