Afald, Afauld, adj. Also: afalde, afaild, afauld(e, afawld; afold, afould; affald, affauld, affawld (-fawlid, -fawald); aifald, ayfald, aefauld. See further Anefald, Aufald, and Efald. [Early ME. and ONhb. ānfald (WS. ānfeald), f. ān one, fald fold, = OS. and OFris. ēnfald, ON. einfaldr. After the 14th cent. only in Sc. use, and very common throughout the 16th cent.]
