1. Brown, in various applications.Occurring early in names of persons and places, as Mihhyn Brunberd (c 1208), Willelmus Brun (1227), Philippus Broun (1358), Ada de Brounhill (1364), etc.(1) c 1250 Liber Calchou 90.
