Quik, adj. (n., adv.) Also: quike, quikke, quick(e, qwik, qwic(k; quyk(e, quyc(k, qwyk; quhick, qwhik, quhyk; superl. also quicest. [ME cwicc (Orm), quic (c 1297), quik (Cursor M.), quicke, quycke, quyk, qwhick (1434), also whik (14th c.), whyke (1456–7), etc., also inflected quica (c 1200), cwike (Orm), quikes (Layamon) (see Queke adj.), OE cwic, cwicu.]
