For he has bugn a bigly bower, An a' to pit his ae daughter in.Slk. 1818 Hogg Brownie of Bodsbeck I. xiii.:
An' do thou, moreover, fauld us owernight, an' every night, in within the true sheep-fauld o' thy covenant, weel buggen wi' the stanes o' salvation.
Hence buggen up, “overwhelmed (as with work)” (Rxb. 1923 Watson W.-B.).
