CORN, Coorn, Kwirn, n.2 Gall. forms of Eng. quern, a hand-mill. MacTaggart in Gallov. Encycl. (1824) 142 gives corn, Curriehill says the word should be spelt coorn, and Kcb.1 (1937) gives the present form as kwirn [kwɪrn].
