Hence 1. gramloch, adj., “avaricious, taking much pains to scrape substance together” (Upp. Cld. 1825 Jam.); 2. gramlochie, adv., in an avaricious manner, graspingly (Ib.); 3. gramlochness, “an extremely worldly disposition” (Ib.), avariciousness.
