PENDULA, n. Also pendili. A pendulum. Also in comb. pendula knock, a pendulum clock. See Knock, n.2Sc. 1707 Foulis Acct. Bk. (S.H.S.) 470:
To mr alcorn till account for makeing a little pendula knock, a stricking knock, and ane old knock, a pendula and helping a watch . . . ½ a guinie.
Rs. 1711 W. MacGill Old Ross-shire (1909) 130:
Ane pendili knock in the principle dyneing roome.
