berrs, the berrs a term used to describe anything excellent: 'This lasagne's the berrs!' It may be that this is a shortened form of the similar expression the berries.
Sc. 1994 Herald 23 Jul 20:
Mention the fact to big George Gilmour that fellow students referred to members of his faculty as "the berrs" and his chest swells with pride.
