MOISTIFY, v. To moisten, to wet, esp. used jocularly of topers drinking. Appar. a coinage of Burns.Ayr. 1786 Burns Earnest Cry xxxii.:
Scotland, my auld, respected Mither! Tho' whiles ye moistify your leather.
