Cannabie, Cannobie, n. Also: cannabbie, kannabie, canabie, can(n)abe; cannaby, canobie. [e.m.E. canaby (1513), rare variant of canapy, e.m.E. and ME. canapé, F. canapé: see Canopé.] A canopy, esp. for a bed.(a) 1536 Treasurer's Accounts VI. 286.
