Hafe, Haif(f, v. Also: haife, hayf(f, haef, heaf. Pres.p.: haif(f)and, -ing, hayf(f)-, haeffand, heaffing. [Northern ME. hafe (a 1300), var. of Have v., with f for v.] Infin. and pres. tenses of ‘to have’. (Chiefly in uninflected forms of the pres. indic.) a. With noun or pronoun object. b.
