Spekin(g, Speikin(g, vbl. n. Also: speke-, speike-, speick-, speak(e and -in(g)e, -yn(g)(e, spayking, spyking. [ME and e.m.E. speking (Layamon), spekyng (Manning), speaking (1580); Spek(e v.] The action of speaking, manifested in speech or writing.
I. 1. The action of speaking in senses 1, 5, 9, 10, 11, 12, 18, 19, 20 and 22 of Spek(e v.(1) ?1438 Alex. ii 66.
