†WANTON-MEAT, n.comb. An entertainment or party, consisting of food, sweetmeats and spirits, held within a household to celebrate the birth of a child (Rxb. 1825 Jam.). Cf. Blithemeat, merry-meat s.v. Merry, 1. (13), id.Dmf. 1823 J. Kennedy Poems 67:
