Plur. pleuchis etc., pleuges (and see Plew n.). [ME. and e.m.E. plouh, plogh(e, plowȝe, plouȝ, plough(e, plowh(e, late OE. plóh, ON. plógr (also OFris. plōch, OHG. pfluog, etc.), a word of appar. late appearance in Germanic and appar. of Italic origin.The plur. form plewis etc. (see Plew n.) derives regularly f. OE. ploȝas pl. The form pleuchis etc. is a re-formation f. the (orig. uninflected) sing.]
