BANK, n.3 Sc. usage of Eng. bank, a bench: a basket of bobbins of yarn used in making up the warp in a loom (Sc. 1885 Jam., Ayr. 1951); a horizontal section of the warping frame in which the bobbins are set up.Sc. 1807 J. Duncan Art of Weaving I. 10:
The number of bobbins which are to form the warp, are placed in the bobbin frame or bank, so that every thread may unwind from the upper part of the bobbin.
