Indyt(e, -dytt, -dite, v.1 Also pres. p. indittand, p.p. indyte. [ME. indytyn (c 1440), indyte, e.m.E. indite, var. of Endite v.] tr. To put into, to express in, words; to compose in writing. Also, to dictate. (Chiefly in poetry, and commonly used as a rhyme-word.)1535 Stewart 2487.
