Opin, Oppin, a. Also: opine, -inn, -yn(e, -en, opne; oppine, oppyn(e, -oyn, -en; vppin; and Apin. [ME. and e.m.E. open, opyn, etc., OE. open.] Open.

1. Of doors, lids, and the like: Not shut. Also of a book.In various lit. and fig. contexts and const. to (incomers, ingress, etc.).Opin duris: in the formula for authorisation of entry, see also (the Kingis etc.) keyis, Key n.1 1 b, Lokfast a. 1 (3) and Patent a.; also implying freedom of entry and exit or of access.
