Peril(l, -el(l, n. Also: perr-, peir- and -ile, -yl(l, -yl(l)e; -ele, -eill; -al(l, -ale, -aill; -aell; (peruell). [ME. and e.m.E. peril (Ancr. R.), perille (Rolle), perel (c 1375), -eyl (1450–80), F. péril (10th c. in Littré). Cf. Parel(l n.] Peril, in the usual senses and applications.
