Locall, v. [f. Local(l a. 2.] tr. a. To assign (a parochial stipend or augmentation) out of the teinds or other ecclesiastical revenues of the parish itself. b. To apportion the liability for payment of stipend or augmentation among the heritors: see Locality n. —1593 Acts IV. 34/1.
[The commissioners] to treat … how … thair may be ane minister prouydit at ilk paroche kirk … and anent thair prouisioun to locall sufficient stipendis and augmentatioun of thair present stipendis and assignatioun furth of the thriddis be the takkismen of teyndis and landis of quhatsumeuir prelacijs or vtheris benefices 1696 Fountainhall Decis.
