Standand bed, Standing bed, n. Also: -an(e)-, -en(d)-, stannand-. [e.m.E. standyng bed (1485), standinge bedd (1588); Standand(e ppl. adj. and Bed n.] A bedstead, esp. of the four-poster type, hung about with curtains and other hangings and covered over as with a ceiling.1498 Acts Lords of Council II 280.
